XE6

Post by PA64 »

Dear Jomitech,

Will there soon be a new version of TwinCompile for XE6?
Are you planning to support parallel compilation of 64-bit C++ files with XE6?
(The 64bit compiler is much slower than the 32bit compiler!)

Best Regards.

We are working on the XE6 version for the 32-bit compiler. The 64-bit one is still under consideration.

Since you mention that the 64-bit compiler is slower than the 32-bit one, can you provide the following:
  • 32-bit compile time without TwineCompile
  • 32-bit compile time with TwineCompile
  • 64-bit compile time

Compile speeds of a converted runtime-package [BPL]:
  • 00:14:11.6 XE6 64Bit Debug
  • 00:01:42.1 XE6 32Bit Debug
  • 00:00:39.23 CPPB2010 32Bit Debug
  • 00:00:23.99 CPPB2010 32Bit Debug with TwineCompile

That is very interesting. It's significantly slower than the 32-bit compiler.

TwineCompile 4.0 has been released with full support for the 64-bit compilers from XE3 through to XE6.

Good news!

But would it be possible to support XE6 in a version 3.7?
Until now and in near future we don't use the 64bit-compiler, so we have to buy the version 4 only for XE6 and not for the 64bit features!

Unfortunately, we do not plan to add XE6 support into TwineCompile 3.

I now have installed XE6 with TwineCompile 4, but when trying to compile a new package the ide crashes!
On command line with jtmake it is working.

Any idea?
Can I send logs to you?
